Horticulture Network Wales (HNW)

Mabis Rural was recently commisioned to research and facilitate the development of the HNW in Ceredigion. Through on-site interviews and workshops with horticultural industry stakeholders, Mabis was able to identify and highlight key players and the issues faced by growers and retailers in Ceredigion. As a result the HNW has been able to develop their strategy to focus on meeting the needs of the horticultural industry.

Meat Promotion Wales (MPW) (Hybu Cig Cymru)

Our experience in the rural industry and event management have been utilised by MPW to support the facilitation of technology transfer to the red meat industry. Mabis Rural currently manage 3 discussion groups and 2 demonstration farms on behalf of the development centre.

Meat Promotion Wales (MPW) – Welsh Beef Quality Improvement Programme

Our wealth of experience in the rural sector has allowed Mabis Rural to support the MPW Development Centre in raising awareness of the Welsh Beef Quality Improvement Programme through innovative promotional techniques.

Centre of Alternative Land Use (CALU)

Following a request from a group of farmers in west Wales, CALU approached Mabis Rural to facilitate and coordinate the group in order to diversify their land use with various crops.

Organic Centre Wales (OCW)

Our latest Beef and Sheep Discussion Group in Aberystwyth adds to a number of projects facilitated by Mabis Rural for the OCW including our buying group for the dairy industry in south west Wales, which is enjoying great success since its formation in 2006.

Environment Agency Wales

Mabis Rural has managed various open days on behalf of the Environment Agency.
 
Dairy Development Centre (DDC)

Mabis Rural currently operates 4 groups on behalf of the DDC using technical transfer to develop the dairy industry.

Training

All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) Training
Mabis Rural has provided 3 All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) training sessions on behalf of the YFC, allowing their member to be fully qualified and aware of current health and safety issues.
 
Chainsaw Use
Ceredigion County Council has commissioned Mabis Rural to provide training in Chainsaw use in order to comply with health and safety requirements.
